|Herbert Simon was born in Nashville in 1927. His art education was mainly in New York City at various schools. He has a BA and an MA from New York University.|
Being an artist since 1948, Simon has concentrated mainly on works in metal - steel, aluminum and bronze, both fabricated and cast. Over the years, he has executed several large commissions, the most recent being Aloft at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. He has an extensive exhibition record and his works are in the collections of numerous museums.
Since the early 1980s, he has taught sculpture in the Art Department at Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA. During the past few years, he has been engaged in printmaking, mainly etching.
