Travelers using the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport will have
additional options for air travel.
US Airways Express is upgrading its service to Charlotte Douglas International
Effective January 11, 2012, US Airways has upgraded is
morning departure to Charlotte from a 67-seat aircraft to an 80-seat aircraft.
This flight departs AVP at 8:42 AM and arrives in Charlotte at 10:46 AM.
Also, this flight will leave Charlotte at 8:30 PM and arrive at AVP at 10:11 PM.
US Airways Express carrier Republic Airlines is operating the daily flight with
the 80-seat Embraer 175 aircraft (E75).
This flight will remain in effect through February 15, 2012.
Effective March 4, 2012, US Airways Express carrier Mesa Airlines will provide
daily service for the morning flight using the 79-seat Canadair Regional Jet 900
Also, effective March 4, 2012, US Airways Express will
upgrade the afternoon departure to Charlotte from a 50-seat aircraft to a
67-seat aircraft. This flight departs AVP at 1:39 PM and arrives in Charlotte at
3:38 PM. Also, this flight will leave Charlotte at 11:26 AM and arrive at AVP at
1:07 PM. US Airways Express carrier PSA Airlines is operating the daily flight
with the 67-seat Canadair Regional Jet 700 (CR7).
The upgraded Charlotte
flights will each offer first class seating for eight or nine passengers, have
a full range of services and
products including wider, more comfortable seats, generous legroom, dedicated
check-in counters at the airport, priority baggage handling and boarding, and a
quiet environment to work, relax and rest.
