Centini, (570) 602-2000 Avoca, PA - Travelers using AVP now have additional options to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and beyond. US Airways has scheduled one additional non-stop daily flight to Charlotte on Saturdays. Beginning February 14, 2009, US Airways will add a 3:00 PM Saturday departure, which arrives in Charlotte at 5:05 PM. Also, the new Saturday flight leaves Charlotte at 12:55 PM and arrives at AVP at 2:30 PM. US Airways Express carrier PSA Airlines will operate the service with 70-seat Canadair Regional Jet aircraft. In addition, US Airways will upgrade their daily flight from a 70-seat aircraft to an 86-seat aircraft. The daily flight will continue to depart AVP at 8:40 AM and arrive in Charlotte at 10:42 AM. The upgraded 86-seat Canadair Regional Jet will go into effect on February 13, 2009. US Airways Express carrier Mesa Airlines will operate the daily departure to Charlotte. The upgraded Canadair Regional Jet and additional weekend flight will increase the daily seats to Charlotte by 23%, and increase the weekly seats by 37%.
