For Immediate Release For More Information, Contact: Judy Tull, (843) 916-9700 or jtull@myrtlebeachdirectair.com May 30, 2008, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - Myrtle Beach Direct Air, a scheduled public charter operated by JetBlue Airways, announced today they will fly the seasonal non-stop jet service between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP) and Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR) in place of Southern Skyways. Flights will begin June 7, 2008 and operate through August 23, 2008. Myrtle Beach Direct Air will offer service on Wednesdays and Saturdays with fares starting at $99* each way. Myrtle Beach is the second largest family summer vacation destination in the United States. "We're happy to come to Northeast Pennsylvania to assist Southern Skyways travelers flying from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Myrtle Beach area", said Judy Tull, CEO of Myrtle Beach Direct Air. Passengers that have already booked on Southern Skyways should have no problems reaching their destination." All Southern Skyways have been reaccommodated on Myrtle Beach Direct Air. All Southern Skyways passengers have been notified of the reaccommodations. Myrtle Beach Direct Air began providing scheduled pubic charter flights in March 2007, servicing over 70,000 passengers in 2007. This year, the airline is expected to service approximately 147,000 passengers.
