| AIRPORT TO HOLD ANNUAL FIRE TRAINING |
| Avoca, PA (August 17, 2006) -- Barry J. Centini, Airport Director, announced that the Kellogg Fire Training Simulator will once again return to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport for three days of Intensive Firefighter training, on August 17-19, 2006.
Once again, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport offers this course to our Airport employees and other regional Airports, as well as our area Volunteer Fire Companies that will be called to assist at the Airport in case of an aircraft emergency. George Bieber, AVP Director - Public Safety, said, “In addition to being used to continually educate our own ARFF Personnel, this course gives us an opportunity to allow our mutual aid fire personnel to work with our ARFF staff on an actual Aircraft simulator.” “This unit actually burns and the fire personnel work in an active fire environment,” Bieber continued. “They also receive very intense classroom instruction.”
