AIRPORT IMPLEMENTS NEW AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Avoca, PA (February 13, 2006) -- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport is launching a volunteer Ambassador Program to assist travelers using the new Joseph M. McDade Terminal Building. This program is the first of its kind at the Airport. The objective of the Volunteer Ambassador Program is to provide courteous, friendly assistance, and useful information to the passengers, visitors, and guests of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport’s Joseph M. McDade Terminal Building.

"The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport is committed to providing the highest possible level of customer service," said Barry Centini, Airport Director. "The Ambassador Program complements the Airport’s goal of providing first-class customer service to our travelers.”

Airport Ambassadors will provide Northeastern Pennsylvania hospitality by assisting travelers and visitors with warmth, compassion and information about the Airport and our Region. They will provide information about Northeastern Pennsylvania attractions, restaurants and hotels. They will provide directions to gate locations, baggage claim, and services and facilities. But more than that, they will provide clarity to the confused, uplift the weary, calm the anxious, and provide care to harried travelers. They will be goodwill ambassadors for our region while making a traveler’s airport experience smooth and memorable.

The Airport is looking for volunteers who are at least 16 years of age and are willing to work a minimum of one four-hour shift per week. Individuals should have an outgoing personality, work well with a variety of people, possess good communication skills, and reliable.

Anyone interested in becoming an Airport Ambassador is encouraged to contact Eric McKitish, Director – Marketing & Communications, by e-mail; phone at (570) 602-2000 or mail, 100 Terminal Drive, Avoca, PA 18641.
