NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR PROPOSED OBSTRUCTION REMOVAL (TREE CUTTING) AT THE WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, AVOCA, PA
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Environmental Assessment (EA) for Obstruction Tree Removal/ Clearing, Phase II, at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, located in Avoca, Luzerne County, PA.

The EA was prepared to identify any potential impacts associated with the proposed action.  This project is the cutting and removal of trees obstructing line-of-sight from the Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower and/or penetrating FAA Part 77 approach surfaces.  This FONSI indicates the determination by the FAA that the proposed action will not have a significant effect on the human environment.

A copy of the FONSI, and Environmental Assessment, are available for review, during normal business hours, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Airport Administration Office, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, 100 Terminal Drive, Avoca, PA, or can be downloaded below. These documents will be available for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of this posting.
