NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT AND
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR PROPOSED OBSTRUCTION REMOVAL (TREE
CUTTING) AT THE WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, AVOCA,
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Finding of No
Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Environmental Assessment (EA) for
Obstruction Tree Removal/ Clearing, Phase II, at the
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, located in Avoca,
Luzerne County, PA.|
The EA was prepared to identify any potential impacts associated with the proposed action. This project is the cutting and removal of trees obstructing line-of-sight from the Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower and/or penetrating FAA Part 77 approach surfaces. This FONSI indicates the determination by the FAA that the proposed action will not have a significant effect on the human environment.
A copy of the FONSI, and Environmental Assessment, are available for review, during normal business hours, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Airport Administration Office, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, 100 Terminal Drive, Avoca, PA, or can be downloaded below. These documents will be available for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of this posting.
